As a whole-body therapeutic massage treatment, Aromatherapy massage can help restore health by calming and balancing the nervous system. Using the combination of techniques, relaxation is achieved through the release of muscle tension. In terms of relaxation and tension relief, the Swedish massage is gentler than Deep-tissue and Sports massage. The five main types of techniques that Aromatherapy massage involves are Effleurage- stroking and gliding around the massage area, Petrissage- kneading the muscles, Tapotement- rhythmic tapping, Friction- rubbing the massage area and Vibration- shaking the massage area.
The techniques that are used in this practice give the therapist a lot of freedom to adapt the treatment to each client individually. That’s why Aromatherapy massage is highly recommended for those who come to the massage for the first time, as well as an introduction to the other procedures.
